Day 77
July 28 - 117km (Wiarton)
I was hearing heavy breathing outside my tent last night and I was curious what monstrous beast was making such noises. When I woke up and got out of my tent, I was greeted by two docile horses staring at me from their enclosure. They simply watched me as I packed up my tent and prepared my bike.
I biked to a gas station/Tim’s to eat some food and freshen up. The bathroom was in use, so I went out to use their outside sink. There was the daily pileup of cars at the drive-thru, and people were gawking at me from their cars as I brushed my teeth and washed my face. I was excited to reach my destination, because today, I would be reaching the cottage my friends would be at. I pushed hard today, because I wanted to be there when my friends arrived.
I suppose I pushed too hard, because I reached there well before anyone else did. I got to take a nice shower to wash off the day’s sweat and grime. Then, my friends reached and the laughter began. It was a great night.
