Day 28

June 9 - 58km (New Glasgow)

After petting the neighbourhood cat and saying our goodbyes to Chad and Sarah, we headed westwards (or northwards? We were aiming to get to PEI). It was finally a sunny day, and we decided to travel off the highway today.

There was one stretch of freshly paved road, and we were all ecstatic at how smooth the riding was. We eventually reached New Glasgow and had our dinner at East Avenue. Peri had hurt her wrist on the way here, so we couldn’t travel far. After debating on where to spend the night, the owner of the restaurant, Charles, came over and had a chat with us. He was an avid cyclist preparing for an Ironman, and he let us camp out on his patio.

Charles was an extremely inspiring man. He woke up every day at 5am to train before heading to work. From that point on, I was thinking about doing a triathlon.
