Day 121

September 10 - 103km (Cluny)

I woke up early today and headed out. I was going to try to get there and back in one day (a 200km total). Well, that was the plan until my rear shifter broke. I was stuck in the toughest gear with heavy headwind and decent hills to face which made the biking brutal. Honestly, when my shifter stopped working, all I could do was laugh. It was just funny how my bike was falling apart. Maybe I was losing my mind.

This was maybe one of the hardest days of biking on the entire trip considering that I could not change my gears. I eventually made it to the spot where I had to be picked up from. A couple guys saw me trying to fix my bike and attempted to help me out - while we couldn’t fix the shifter, they were at least able to put the gear in a lower setting which would make the biking back easier.

I went to the nearby Fas Gas station and got some dinner there. They let me camp outside their property, and I easily fell asleep after such a long day.
