Day 100

August 20 - 165km (Winnipeg)

My friend had family friends in Winnipeg that were able to host me for the night. I just had to get there.

As I biked, the hills disappeared and were replaced by flatness. It was honestly crazy to see. Cars would remain in view for multiple minutes even though they were going over 100km/h. The terrain made biking really easy considering there was no headwind.

Well, it was easy until I fell off my bike. It’s embarrassing to say, but there was a spider that appeared on my right hand. It startled me, and as I went to brush it off, I lost balance. Whoops. My steel handlebars were completely dented and I was still about 100km away from Winnipeg.

A very kind lady stopped and offered to drive me into the city, but I told her that I needed to bike the entire way. So I set out on my way with the extremely dented handlebar, flustered with what had just happened.

I reached Winnipeg as the sun set and was greeted by my hosts who fed me Indian food. It was delicious!!!
