Day 97

August 17 - 98km (Somewhere along Highway 17)

Today was a really windy day. Good news: the shoulder quality was starting to improve! It got much wider, and this took off a lot of stress from biking.

After biking about 100km, I found a rest stop to camp at. I cut it pretty close to sunset, which was not ideal since I promised myself I wouldn’t bike after dark on the highway. The issue with biking near the forest is that there aren’t many viable camping spots, and if you decide to push forward, you HAVE to make the next one.

At the rest stop, I met someone biking across Canada going the other way! We both exchanged route advice and he told me about cyclists that I would be encountering.
